Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 10, 2026

Caddy (“Caddy,” “we,” “us”) is a social golf app operated by Jeremy Quinones. This policy explains what data Caddy collects, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to the Caddy iOS app.

We do not sell your personal data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

Information we collect

Account & identity

When you create an account we use Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In (handled by our authentication provider, Clerk). Through that we receive:

You may also add optional profile details such as a bio and profile photo.

Golf activity you create

Caddy stores the content you create in the app so it can power scoring, leagues, and history:

Some of this content is visible to other members you play with or share a league with (for example, your display name and the scores in a shared round).

Location (only when you look up nearby courses)

When you search for a golf course near you, Caddy makes a one-time request for your device’s precise location and passes it to Apple MapKit to find nearby courses. This location is used at the moment of the search and is not stored by Caddy. You can decline the location permission and search for courses manually instead.

Weather

When a round starts, Caddy fetches current conditions from Apple WeatherKit using the golf course’s coordinates — not your device location — and stores that snapshot with the round.

Diagnostics (crash & error reporting)

We use Sentry to capture crashes and errors so we can fix bugs. These reports may include your account identifier and technical details about the error and device. They are used only to diagnose and improve reliability.

How we use your information

All of the data above is collected for app functionality. We do not use it for tracking or advertising.

Who we share it with

We share data only with the service providers that make Caddy work, and only as needed to provide the service:

These providers are bound by their own privacy commitments and are required to protect your data to at least the standard described in this policy, and may use it only to provide their service to us.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service. We do not sell your personal data or share it with advertisers.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active.

You can delete your account at any time inside the app (Profile → Edit Profile). Deletion is irreversible: it removes your account from our authentication provider so you can no longer sign in, and de-identifies and removes your personal records from our backend. Some content you created in shared contexts (for example, a score recorded in another player’s round history) may remain in de-identified form. Backups and diagnostic logs may persist for a limited period before routine expiry.

You can also email us at hello@caddyapp.golf to request deletion or ask questions about your data.

Your choices

Children

Caddy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under the minimum age required in your country). If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at hello@caddyapp.golf and we will delete it.

International users

Your information may be processed and stored on servers operated by our service providers, which may be located outside your country. By using Caddy you consent to that processing.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version at this page and revise the “Effective date” above. Material changes will be communicated in-app where appropriate.
